"NHS patients treated as second class citizens"

I was referred to woodlands by my own GP to see a dermatology specialist doctor. From the second the reception staff realised I was an NHS patient I was spoken to as if I was a simpleton and had to wait fifty minutes past my appointment time and kept in a separate waiting room from privately paying patients. Once I was shown in to the doctor they talked over me and insisted that I use shampoo containing sodium laurel sulphate despite the proven medical fact that such ingredients aggravate psoriasis and to top it all I have no psoriasis on my flake free clean scalp. Despite being a qualified hairdresser and having covered different chemicals and their effects on dermatitis I was told I "have to trust them as they are a doctor and I am not". Maybe woodlands hospital could teach their doctors how to check their medical books before espousing nonsense on such basics. I can not put into adequate words how frustrating it is to wait for a whole year to see a "specialist" only to be treated like I come up the Clyde on a bike! Sure the hospital is clean with comfy chairs in the waiting room but that in no way makes up for the ignorance of the staff I had dealings with.
