"Breast clinic results"

About: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

Went to the breast clinic for my results of a biopsy I had 2 weeks prior. I waited one and half hours as the clinic had only one doctor (the consultant was away - the first time I went I saw them and they were brilliant). Anyhow, me and my husband went in and was surprised when the doctor asked me what my problem was. The doctor was unaware that I had had a biopsy and that I was there purely for my results and follow up. I understand the doctor was under pressure but still, I thought it wasn't good. About a minute later however, the doctor then took a personal phone call on their mobile (totally unprofessional!) and then came back, looked at my results and said everything was normal. After a minute of discussing what I was to do the doctor then went back on themselves and said that they had misread it an something had shown up... And although this something wasn't too serious thankfully, I was gobsmacked how careless they were. I think the care I received that day was by far one the worst I have endured in terms of outpatients care. Getting test results is already stressful enough, and so the doctor not knowing about my reason for coming to the clinic, along with their nonchalant attitude (plus not even an apology!) was very upsetting to see.
