"Very dissapointed"

About: South Bristol Community Hospital

Arrived at the urgent care centre at 6.10pm on Saturday 18th July. I took my son who had hurt his wrist about an hour prior to this and was in a lot of pain. The receptionist completely ignored me and was chatting to a couple about holidays. It was only when the couple pointed out that I was stood there did they take any notice. There were at this time about 3 patients waiting in the waiting room. I explained what was wrong and the receptionist proceeded to tell me that they were not taking any more patients as they only had 2 nurses on duty. They told me to come back in the morning. Again, this was at 6.10pm and the centre does not close until 8pm and there were only 3 patients in the waiting room! I said that my son was in a lot of pain and needed an X-ray so they said that I would have to go to the a&e. I am absolutely disgusted that we were turned away when my son was in pain and also the fact that we ended up spending 4 hours in a&e when he could have had the same treatment at my local centre. Oh and by the way, his wrist was broken!!
