I recently had a very positive experience in the maternity department. I spent 2 weeks on the antenatal ward and all the staff could not have been more helpful, caring or professional. It made a long hospital stay bearable! I then had an elective c section, and all the staff in theatre, recovery and ward 34 were lovely - I couldn't have asked for a higher standard of care, despite the ward being very busy. I was very impressed that I was able to get home the next day to continue my recovery and get going with breastfeeding. Also the theatre staff were all great a putting me at ease (I was a little anxious to say the least). Unfortunately baby and I were readmitted 5 days later to ward 33, but again the care and help was great, despite the busy ward. Thanks again to all the staff on all the wards for the great level of care. Also, the food seems to have improved over the past 4 years - much better!
