"Dreadful"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

Came here with a referral to A&E for a CT from my Doctor, from the moment I got there, no one told me what was happening, the nurse put a cannula in my arm even though it is the most uncomfortable place and got annoyed when I asked the nurse to move it to my hand. I had to sit in CDU for 5 hours after my scan with no one telling me what was going on, they didnt even give me a bed even though I was in chronic pain. At one point a patient actually lay on the floor because they wouldn't give her a bed. The doctor was extremely unhelpful they sat on the phone laughing for a majority of it, even their fellow staff told me to make a complaint about the doctor because they were so unprofessional. The doctor then went to ring Urology for me and never came back. Possibly the worst experience of a hospital I have ever had. No duty of care, no regard for patient well being, a total sham of a hospital.

We are sorry to read of your experience during your visit to our A&E Department. It must have been upsetting not to be told what was happening throughout your care. We value all patient feedback and have sent your review over to the team in A&E. However, if you would like to discuss your concerns with someone please contact our Patient, Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 020 3594 2040 or by email: pals@bartshealth.nhs.uk to provide us with more detailed information. Kind regards Barts Health NHS Trust
