"staff just could not be bothered"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

My mam was on ward 24 and I was sitting and there was a strong smell of pee and when I checked it was on the floor my mam had just went onto this ward, it was an old smell I told a nurse and she said she would get it cleaned up , you felt you couldn't go to speak to the staff and they never told us how our mother was doing , they give her a sleeping tablet at tea time which I told them to give her it at bed time because it makes her confused and sleepy. but they still give it to her in the afternoon , even when leaving you didn't get a smile .

Hello, we're sorry to hear that you've been disappointed by some aspects of your relative's care, in particular the communication about their condition which doesn't sound up to the standard patients and relatives should expect from us. If you'd like us to look into these issues, please contacts our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on pals@ghnt.nhs.uk.
