What I liked
The staff on the gynae ward were respectful, helpful. concerned and extreamly professional. I had read previous comments and admit to being worried about my stay at the RSH. I had no need to be. We are all quick to criticise the NHS staff and demand the return of matron to the wards, well one of the sisters would be a wonderful "matron" who posesses a sense of humour,a careing attitude so often missing from nursing and the ability to keep the ward running smoothly. The anethasist envolved me completely in the choices of anesthetic available to me and explained the pros and cons of everything fully. The gentleman cleaner was a bit of a shock on a single sex ward(sexist on my part maybe?) but he was just as professional in his attitude and politeness as any of the other staff. Well done and thank you to everyone!!
What could be improved
hate to say it but the choice of vegitarian foods did not match my idea of veggie food e.g. vegetable pie... all i found was mashed potato, tinned tomato and three garden peas!! where were the veggie and how could that be called a pie however.... if the food was all i can moan about then there isnt really much to moan at!!
Anything else?
I would like to comment on the student nurses that were on the ward whilst i was there. If they continue to show the same sense of caring and get the same level of support they received and showed on the gynae ward then the NHS may well continue in safe hands. One student deserves a special mention for her perseverence, humour and willingness to just keep going Well done and keep studying!!! .
