"A&E"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

On recommendation from our GP we visited this department - it was an horrific shocking experience - here are just a few of my observations its very rare we have to go to A&E and I now know what everyone is on about..... hardly any staff, huge queues, all very shocking - the X-ray receptionist said they were overloaded with work, in the A&E waiting area there were people with injured legs sitting in wheelchairs and a continuous stream of hospital beds with patients on were wheeled past just missing the extended injured legs of these people quite often due to queues of people booking in the beds of sick people could not get past so everyone had to move away. I heard everyones personal details, their address and their often horrific symptoms.

I am so sorry to learn of this distressing and chaotic experience, especially regarding the questioning of your nationality and the lack of privacy for conveying personal details. Please will you contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service so that they can take your details and look further into this. They can be telephoned on 01227 864314 or 01227 783145 or emailed at ekh-tr.PALS@nhs.net
