I was in great discomfort with a nearly-severed tendon in my shoulder and the prospect of a long wait with the NHS before surgery. To my surprise, among the hospitals that I was invited by the NHS Choose and Book system to choose from, was Circle Bath, a private hospital about 1 hr away from home. It was offering a very quick consultation, and was delighted that very shortly after that I was given an appointment for surgery. The medical and nursing staff were very professional and caring. The ward staff made me and my husband very welcome . The anaesthetic and operation proceeded satisfactorily and I was allowed to stay the night in the hospital in my own private room. My husband was allowed to stay the night too. The food and refreshments were excellent. The physio and instructions for exercises was clear and helpful. In brief, we have nothing but praise for the Circle Bath Hospital and for the NHS who made this choice possible for us. Now we have long period of convalescence but with the confidence that I received the very best medical treatment, and promptly.
