"Ward 4 - letting Macc hospital down"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

A close relative has been moved to ward 4, with an expectation that the service received would be consistent to elsewhere in the hospital, how wrong could you be! There is no communication between medical staff and patients relatives, if anything they run a mile! The 'admin' is next to useless, with a standard response 'I only do admin' received twice so far - if that's the case don't be on show! The relative has only been given a slice of toast as their dinner request had been lost, does this aid improving health or is it as the patient believes the hospital is just waiting for them to die! I'll have a long wait to see an improvement.

We were very disappointed and sorry to read your comments regarding your relative's care on ward 4. Kate Johnson, the ward 4 senior sister is personally aware of your concerns and would very much like to discuss them with you. Kate can be contacted by telephoning 01625 661004 or by email on kate.johnson@nhs.net. The trust aims to continually improve the quality of services we provide and your feedback is key to achieving this.
