I am very pleased with the medical staf, I am fortunate to have a wonderful consultant/surgeon, who is doing their best to keep me sighted. However, I had a bad experience with a nurse on Monday ( 5th) who made a real mess of an eye test and did not understand that they had given me a chart in reverse. I have reported the matter to PALS, who I hope will act, as this could affect other patients. Luckily my consultant knows me and my case and had to write off the nurses' work as a waste of time and inaccurate. I know there is a shortage of staff in the NHS but if you are going to employ overseas staff and I have no problem with that, they must have an exremely fluent level of English and be able to understand when patients explain that for example, this chart is back to front, which they did not. I tried clarification with the wrong way around and they denied it. It turns out they were also looking at a different chart from me. I hope that the hospital and PALS will take this up, as this is unhelpful to both medical staff and patients.
