I had been kept awake at night for seven weeks with pain from a fractured elbow. After the briefest of examinations I was told to come back in three months, when something might be done. Fortunately my GP recommended a physiotherapist and the dervishes they gave corrected a slight dislocation in my shoulder, which had been missed both at the clinic and in A and E
