My partner has been going through some hefty Cancer treatment and her service has been overall excellent. However a complication has set in and last night we were sent to the Medical Assessment unit which we arrived at around 5.30pm. I left and re-joined my partner some 2 hours later where she was still waiting and we were finally seen by a Doctor at around 2330. That's a 6 hour wait. I asked on I think 2 occasions when we were likely to be seen and I was told "there is only 1 Doctor on duty". At 1030 pm there were 5 trollies in the room with elderly patients awaiting treatment. 2 of them were taken to A&E where "hopefully the queue was less". This was not a pretty sight. I wanted to take a photo of this shambles as its a million miles away from the glamorous documentary on television at present.
