"Not interested in there after care"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

Had a bottom wisdom extracted a week ago at the hospital, towards the weekend the pain intensified to shocking pain going up through my teeth to my temple and sinus pain in the face. Phoned hospital Monday morning 8 days after extraction as it said on the leaflet if symptoms persist or get worse phone the oral maxio department which I did. All I got was a receptionist putting me off from going in saying I will have to wait a long time to be seen and I should use ibruprofen and parcetamol together for the pain which I told them I already was and they said it was usual for this to happen for a long time after surgery even though I told them it has been over a week now and basically I was told to get on with it. I refused to accept this advice and turned up at the hospital and waited for nearly one and half hours and in the end had to tell them I felt like I was getting ignored and had to go. I went to my dentist with an emergency appointment in the afternoon and was told it was a dry socket and infection had set in and prescribed antibiotics and a medication gauze put in the socket. this cost £18.00 for the consultation at my dentist plus the prescription charge. Northwick park should provide better after care service and you should not have to pay to go elsewhere when you were there patient in the first place.
