"A nightmare evening in A and E"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

On Monday 15 June 2015 I was admitted by ambulance to the a and e dept. The crew left me with entenox for pain relief and after about 15 minutes I was put into a side room and a nurse took some details. I was in this room without any pain relief except for entenox which wasn't effective for a very long time. I was not given the call button until X ray staff took me for an X ray. I called for help and was crying my eyes out. The nurse that arrived said they would do something. Twenty minutes later nothing had happened so I called again. The nurse came in and wanted to know what my problem was. I told the nurse and they said they would sort something. Throughout all of this I was crying my eyes out. Eventually my son rang from Shropshire and when I answered my mobile he discovered the state I was in. His wife, a nursing sister, then rang treliske a and e and complained. I then had bloods taken and pain relief given. It was 3 am before I start on a ward. The treatment I received in a and e was appalling and I hope to God I never have to be treated there again.
