"Excellent care for an elderly lady with dementia"

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency

My Mum was recently admitted from her care home with an infection. The staff in A&E and the paramedics treated her with great dignity and respect.. Mum is in the latter stages of dementia and finds a change in environment very distressing. The staff on MAU3 and Brearley 6 from where she was discharged were lovely. Never once did I have any concerns about Mums care. The respect and care she received were outstanding The NHS receives a lot of criticism but our family has nothing but praise for the care Mum received at the Northern General Hospital. Thank you to all who were involved in preserving the dignity of our lovely Mum.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your kind comments on your mum's experience at the Northern General Hospital.

It is positive to hear that the care and respect your mum received was outstanding.

Staff always welcome positive feedback and I will ensure your comments are passed on to those involved in your mum's care.

I hope your mum continues to make a good recovery.

Thank you again.
