Well I was brought over to Lister in an ambulance from Watford General as I needed to urgently be seen by an ENT specialist. I was taken to the SAU unit within minutes, given ice cold water (thank god as today is the hottest day of the year so far) and told I wouldn't have to wait long. How many times have I heard that in other hospitals and then had to chase the Drs up over and over? Well not this time! I was seen by a Dr within 15 minutes and they were friendly, efficient and talked me through their diagnosis (severe tonsillitis and glandular fever) and what the course of action would be for the rest of my stay. After they left the nurses came on time all the time with antibiotics and steroids, asked me if I needed pain killers. Always topped up my water and were really friendly. My visit was today (1/7/2015) and the two people that made me feel not only welcome but also helped me out by taking time to talk to me...meaning I wasn't constantly alone (as I didn't have any visitors like the other patients, were two members of staff on the SAU unit! I have never been treated with so much respect and thoughtfulness before, so for that I am truly thankful! I hope this review and the Facebook page review and the email I have sent will go some way to getting the staff on the unit today and especially the two I mentioned, the credit they deserve! Your staff are a real credit to you! Thanks so much for looking after me and keeping me safe. Miss. Laura Evans
