"Once I get a support worker I hope things will get better"

About: North Ayrshire Council - Three Towns, North Coast and Arran

(as a service user),

I have carers every day. I'm not happy with the times they come, I've tried to change it but was told I couldn't. They come at 11. 50, almost lunchtime and it's a bit late as I've already spent all day alone. They come back at 7pm which is ok. Around 10 in the mornings would be good, then I could go out for a walk or to the shops after they leave.

Once I get a support worker I hope things will get better. My support worker retired and I really miss her. She came once a week for a chat and to sort out my mail and finances. It's been at least a year I've been waiting for a new one and nothing has happened. The carers try to help me but they don't have much time. The social worker said he would sort it. You have to pay for everything, I'm trying to find help for everything, for my washing and for someone to take me shopping, it's a lot to manage on your own
