Over the last 7 years I have spent 4 of those years at Tameside Hospital on a locked psychiatric unit, due to problems with my bipolar disorder. You are very vulnerable as a psychiatric patient. I was sectioned under the Mental Health Act several times throughout the admissions. Luckily the staff have been absolutely fantastic. They observe and monitor your health, spend time talking to you and O. T. staff provide lots of activities to keep you occupied. Also the ward I am on is recently refurbished with single, en-suite, rooms.

Thank you for this feedback, which we have shared with the ward. It will be encouraging to others to know that the staff on the ward work hard to make service users have a positive experience, whilst also supporting their recovery. The refurbishment has been in the last two years, so the facilities are much better.
