"Regarding my MRI Scan"

Hi I have recently had an MRI Scan at this hospital. My appointment was made via my GP under the NHS. The appointment schedule came through quite quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at the time table given to me. On arrival I was talking to the booking in person and I was again surprised to hear that this hospital has no less than 5 MRI units although 2 of them our housed in very high tech trailers. After 10 day's have past I thought my scan results would have been screened and forwarded to my GP. Asked my GP if they had received my results only to told that it could be up to 6 weeks before they received them.. I was gob smacked to say the least. After the speed of getting my MRI Scan only to be told 6 weeks for the results. Surely there is a short fall on the admin side of this unit. I would have thought the Scan side would have been a waiting issue. Then having said this I was asked by the hospital if my referral was via my GP or arranged privately. One wonders if there is any difference in the admin time schedule. Trying to get my painful neck and head around this Thank you
