"Gallbladder Renoval"

About: Hexham General Hospital

I was admitted into Ward 3 of Hexham General Hospital on 12th June 2015 for Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Initially I was to be admitted as a day patient, but due to a difficult procedure, I needed to stay in overnight and was allowed home the following evening. I would like to thank all the Staff in the hospital, especially my consultant who carried out the procedure, and also the Anaesthetist who looked after me from the time I arrived on the Ward then went into Theatre for the procedure. Having never had any sort of operation previous to this, I was very nervous. Everyone kept me well informed and up to date about what was happening and I was treated with utmost respect and care throughout. Please also say thank you to all the Staff on Ward 3 who cared for me over that weekend. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hospital to others.

Response from Hexham General Hospital

Dear Judith, I'm delighted that your first experience of surgery and a hospital stay has been so positive - I can appreciate why you were nervous without knowing what to expect. It's lovely to hear that our staff looked after you very well and gave you all the information you needed to feel confident. Thank you for recommending our care to others, it means a great deal to us. We will of course pass on your very kind feedback to all staff on ward 3 . if you want to email me the name of your surgeon or the anaethestist I will happily pass on a note of thanks on your behalf. You can reach me at annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk With all best wishes and thanks again for your time, Annie
