I was recently admitted via A&E to Bassetlaw with several complaints. I ultimately ended up on CCU/C2 Ward for 2 weeks. I cannot is any way fault the staff or the level of care that I received throughout my time. Whilst I was incapacitated the staff ensure they washed me daily and the bedding was changed twice a day as a minimum. I was treated not only for what I was immediately admitted for but also further investigations to check for underlying issues. In all honesty if I had elected to pay private with a blank check the level of treatment and care couldn't have been any better. Ward was spotlessly clean and the staff always ensured I had a meal even if I was off the ward for treatment at mealtimes they made sure something was kept back for me. On one occasion when the kitchen forgot to give me my desert a nurse actually walked down to the restaurant to fetch it up for me, cannot fault anything. There was however one night when the night staff (who I am assuming were agency) were very rude and uncaring, but after discussing this with the regular day staff they assured me they would look into this and in their fairness, I never saw the uncaring night staff again. So overall, funny as it seems, if you are unwell and need treatment, I cannot fault the level of care and the service received and if needs be would recommend Bassetlaw hospital if needs be.
