"Faultless journey"

I came in for day surgery on my shoulder and went to DSU1 where i was met by a very nice nurse who instantly put me at ease and made me laugh, a great way to start my transition. Whilst waiting for my operation i was seen by no less than 7 different people who were all really friendly and caring. The anaesthetist was amazing and i can honestly say was the most reassuring person I've ever met, a credit to the profession, they explained everything to me in plain english and when i told them i was worried put me at ease. I was taken to Theatre and got to look around the room and the anaesthetist was there on hand to keep me calm, the two assistants kept me distracted and made me laugh right up until i feel sleep. Woke up in recovery wondering how on earth it was now 8pm and the nurse was sat with me making sure i was ok. Went back to DSU2 where the nurses there were brilliant, they brought my things over from the other unit and the nurse looking after me was really polite and caring, got me everything i needed, food and drink, helped me get dressed and was the perfect person for when you're all dizzy and stumbling about the place, the Staff Nurse was also great, made me laugh and ensured that i was fit to go home. Overall, for something i was terrified of, all the staff i met made my stay one of the most comfortable I've had, it makes me glad to live in an area that has a great hospital and an amazing team of staff, thank you to all of them.
