"Care my mother received"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as a relative),

My mother had a massive stroke and was transferred to Monklands Hospital. She was critically ill and doctors were able to treat her very quickly.

The care she received in the first few days were excellent and the treatment provided by the hospital staff to me and my family was first class.

Family members travelled from London and the South East and whilst there were notices limiting the number of visitors and visiting times the nursing staff were very tolerant and flexible around visiting time.

The doctor explained very clearly what had happened to mum and sympathetically. He allowed us to ask questions and provided clear and truthful answers.

The nursing staff were very supportive and tolerant to the many demands of the various family members.

Dear Sompting Rob,

This must be a difficult time for your mother and your family, thank you for taking the time to share your views on the care and attention given to her by our staff.

We limit visiting times to meet the requirements of the patients, to enable clinical care and privacy. However each patient circumstances should be take into account and agreed with their family and I am pleased to hear that you were happy with the arrangement’s which accommodated your family having to travel such a distance

Your feedback will be a real motivator for the staff and I will be sure to pass your very kind comments on.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch.

Best wishes to you and your family, I hope your mother continues to recover well

Kind Regards

Margaret Barbour
