"Refused suitable pain relief during stay"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

I was refused any suitable pain relief for the whole 48 hours I was at the William Harvey. I lay in my hospital bed in pure agony for the whole time and eventually made the decision to pretend to eat and pretend I had no pain, so I would be discharged. I desperately needed pain relief and as it was obvious I was not going to get anything suitable at the WH, I decided I had be discharged so I could manage my pain at home. To be fair the nurses were lovely, very caring and worked very hard, but they just didn't listen to my concerns (or the Doctors dismissed them) and it is obvious from my discharge letter that no one actually listened to what I had said or read my previous admission notes - they decided what was wrong with me refused to budge from their decision. I am very disappointed that I had to lie in a hospital bed in severe pain when the pain could easily have been taken away with adequate pain relief.
