"Ante-Natal & Maternity"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I chose Whipps Cross to have my 2nd child even though I had 2 other hospitals closest to home. I could not have made a better decision! Due to a history of stillbirth and miscarriages I was given an excellent care plan during the 9 months. I am forever grateful to the doctors and the rest of the team for making me believe that it was possible to have a successful pregnancy. I was prescribed aspirin and cycolgest to sustain it. I was monitored regularly and seen almost on time. The longest I waited for a consultant appointment was 40mins. Midwives were always friendly, smiley and chatty, never miserable. As I was terrified of losing the baby like before I really wanted a c-section. I was backed fully by the doctor. The C-Section team were absolutely wonderful too and helped alot to take away alot of nerves I had. The only downside was that when the baby arrived all the wards were full and there were no beds available. I had given birth after 7years and my mum and sister were anxiously waiting to see the baby, but were not able to visit because I was not on a ward. We were made to get buy a private room at £120 if we wanted guests which I thought was a bit out of order. But all in all the staff made up for it. A member of staff in the Magnolia ward was particular lovely. I would definately recommend the hospital.
