"Accidentally off the list after 5 hours soo not..."

About: North Middlesex Hospital

Arrived at A&E in the evening in a bad state, after losing a lot of weight recently and been sick every other week plus sweating all the time, suddenly I started to cough up blood too and having temperature. Was told at work these are symptoms for TB so as soon as I could, I headed down there. I was told it would take up to four hours. I kept asking every hour at the reception desk that I have been waiting long, what's going on, and the receptionist replied that 4 hours is 5 now. Yes, but I have been waiting for 5 hours. They checked again and said. Oops, You are off the list for some reason. Let me talk to a doctor and put you back somehow. -Do I have to start it again? - No, they said, it will maximum take another 2 hours. That would be 7 hours!! The whole night was gone, it has come to 4am and I had to ride a bike home in my state. Freezing, being up for 24 hours. Went home without help. Second horrible experience with this hospital. Never again!!

Thank you for your feedback. I am the A&E service manager gcarter-sandy@nhs.net and will be sharing your comments with the team. You advised that you were accidentally removed from the list and this will be investigated and systems put in place to ensure that this does not occur again.
