I went to A&E for a head/neck injury that may have been a spinal fracture.
From the nurse in the initial consultation to the porters to the radiographers to the doctors absolutely everyone was incredibly friendly and appreciative of the pain I was in. To say there is a nationwide crisis in A&E departments would be considered a joke judging by how effective the Leeds dept. is.
Unfortunately I don't remember any names of the staff that helped me on that day but they all deserve recognition of the quality of care I received. There was quite a wait in between scans and at the end in the CDU while I was awaiting results but this is unavoidable in any hospital and was a very small price to pay.
I was disappointed however in the inability to have a look at my scans / have a copy. I wanted this purely out of professional curiosity as I am hoping to become an oral surgeon myself. I think I will be submitting a subject access request in order to have a copy of my scans.
Overall though, the experience was fantastic. Thank you!
