...Third world care right here in the UK. If anything, I would say it's overstaffed but there is no clear leadership, most of the staff simply wonder around like headless chickens. The one or two clearly competent staff are thereby stretched to the limit. Arrived at 1:30 p.m., having been sent by a consultant that had called ahead to book a bed. Seen by a nurse fairly quickly, however thereafter numerous delays and run-arounds meant I was finally admitted at 7:30 p.m. despite being in obvious pain for the entire afternoon. I was promised painkillers, but they didn't arrive until I complained several hours later. The chairs are not designed for extended use. They become severely uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Frankly, this is no way to treat human beings in 2015. In fact it's no way to treat human beings in 1915! If you have a choice, go somewhere else. If you have no choice, take a cushion, something to eat / drink and plenty of reading material.
"Simply awful."
