I last put a review in the Orthopaedic area for this hospital stating dissatisfaction about waiting times which were on the nhs choices website as being 8-10 weeks and the fact that my husband is not receiving any information about when he will be going in for a much needed hip operation. 21 weeks down the line and my husband is still waiting to hear from Macclesfield despite him having telephoned several times up to May to be told he would hear 'in a couple of weeks' and my telephoning almost on a weekly basis now since the end of May as nothing had been heard. I am still appalled that no lists are determined and no dates are forthcoming for a hip operation and in the meantime my husbands health is deteriorating. Yes we have been back to the GP and he said he has written to the Consultant and yet the wait carries on. Would I ever recommend Macclesfield as a hospital for a hip operation? The answer would be a definite no given how long we have had to wait. The only thing stopping us from asking GP to start over with an appointment at another hospital in the area is the fact that we would have to wait yet again but on the other hand it would probably still be before Macclesfield got their finger out and organised my husbands operation!
"Still waiting"
