I had an accident in Greece, fracturing and dislocating my ankle and was flown home on 12th June taken straight to A &E where I was seen fairly promptly and xrayed and an appointment was made for fracture clinic on 18th June. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Again at fracture clinic I was well treated and the staff were wonderful. I was then informed that I needed surgery and I was admitted to Ward 15 on 19th June for surgery. Everything was explained fully to me and the staff made me feel at ease, I was given the choice of a general anaesthetic or a spinal injection, both fully explained to me. I chose the spinal injection and the staff were very attentive and helped me through a very difficult time. Post surgery I was taken to Ward 15, again the staff were wonderful. I was discharged on Saturday 20th June. All in all my hospital visits and stay were good experiences thanks to the staff on ward, A & E, fracture clinic, theatre and recovery depts. particular thanks to the member of staff in recovery who helped me through quite a traumatic time.
