"Poor treatment for dislocated knee"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Had accident at work over 3 weeks ago and dislocated/ seperated knee, I had to manually put patella back into position. Finally managed to see very arrogant Doctor over 2 weeks later at Stoke Mandeville, was totally disinterested and basically called me a liar saying my leg would not separate like that. Only when I said this is the fourth and by far the worst time this has happened did he give me a brief exam, no explanation of reason for knee / leg issues, no pain advice, no advice on how to protect extremely painful swollen leg. When asked him if he could please explain a reason why my leg separates like this as this is my job at stake (builder) he bluntly replied "how should I know? ".

By the way he is an orthopaedic surgeon! ! ! ! !

I went to private sports therapist who was shocked at this arrogant attitude and after giving me a proper examination and description of of my leg anatomy problems said I should have a prompt MRI as he feels I have ruptured 2 of my ligaments, luckily though I have an appointment to see the same SM doctor for a follow up in nearly 3 months time, 3 months wearing a full leg brace, no work, no money, extreme pain and swelling, good old NHS!

Oh and I live next to SM hospital and the appointment is High Wycombe which should be fun as I cant walk properly.......
