My husband was recently cared for by a fantastic team. They made a quick diagnosis of a rare condition and he is now doing well. However, during this time my husband with hospitalised for 8 days. We have a then 4 month old baby. The facilities are dreadful. The one baby changing toilet was so small you can't fit a buggy inside so you have to leave it outside the toilet. There was absolutely no where suitable to breastfeed my baby. When I asked at the help desk if there was anywhere suitable to go the response was simply 'no'. This made an already stressful time even more stressful and complicated. Spending the short visiting hours that I could be there before baby needed to be home for bed searching for somewhere to change and feed her. They really need to improve facilities for parents. I am saddened but not surprised to hear that they are cutting funding for breastfeeding cafes in that area. It is clearly not one of their priorities. Such a shame when everything else was so excellent.
"Fantastic care, terrible facilities for babies"
