Came to clinic last Thursday and consultant referred me for emergency surgery and was admitted that evening for spinal surgery the next day. I can not thank the staff enough for the professionalism, dignity and highest level of medical care I received. The nursing staff on the Kinnier Wilson ward were absolutely amazing and responded to all my concerns, caring needs and their sense of humour got me through quite a roller-coaster weekend. The ward was managed so efficiently, with a strong team ethos shining through - food was lovely, room was very clean and I enjoyed an environment where nurses and doctors worked so harmoniously together to ensure you are fully informed and can ask any question - at any time of the day or night. The surgery team and doctors were all very approachable and I felt part of the decision-making process - all my concerned listened to. The visits from Physio were really appreciated too and I felt confident about copying when I was discharged - armed with a set of exercises and future referral to Physio. My move to the Murray Falconer ward was executed really smoothly and I continued to receive 1st class care. I'm feeling great, a bit tired and sore, but glad to have it all over (the surgery) and I look forward to a summer of recovery. This is what the NHS is all about and we must fight to ensure that it is fully funded so everyone can gain access to the same level of care that I received this weekend. Thank you all so so much.
