"my fathers stay in hospital"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

my father was admitted to hospital via a& e on 28th April where he spent 3 weeks on ward F 9. The personal care my father received was disgusting. We witnessed my father deteriorating day by day. On one occasion my father was left sitting in a chair with wet trousers and bare cold feet on a wet dirty floor. My brother mother and i had to get him off the chair and change him into dry clean clothes. He was just left there and ignored. Many times when we went to see him the sheets were covered in blood, there was blood and poo on the floor and on the chair. We did tell the nurses about this but it still continued and nothing changed. On another occasion i moved a urine bottle near the window and the next evening this was still there and had not been taken away. The needles are left in for far to long before they are changed. When my father was bought home at 4.20 pm on 13th May he told me he had not be given a drink all day not one nurse had checked to see if he was thirsty.

Dear Karen We were very concerned to read about your father's experiences during his stay on F9. The description you give falls a long way short of the standards of care we expect for patients at Frimley Park Hospital. We would be very grateful if you were able to send an email for attention of Jo at complaintsusers@fhft.nhs.uk so that she could speak with you with a view to investigating the matter further.
