i came in after stomach acid problems and a lot of pain. I was seen quickly by triage however pain medication was not administered for at least 1 hour despite having been promised immediately. The ED was calm and quiet and my bloods were taken quickly. I was then given some IV paracetamol and started to feel better. i was seen by one of the A&E doctors who was calm and respectful as they examined me to try and determine the problem. the pain quickly came back so i was given some codeine however i was told that i was allowed to go home if i wanted but given the choice to stay. i decided to stay as the pain was getting considerably worse. my relative then had to go and find the doctor to request some stronger pain killers however we were sent for an x ray without explanation. when we came back i was finally taken to the clinical decisions unit. the doctor did all they could to make sure i was comfortable and gave me some morphine which greatly helped the pain. i was incredibly impressed by this doctor and greatly appreciated their help and i was given further pain killers during the night by the nurses with minimal disturbance. my care overnight was brilliant however when i was seen by a doctor in the morning they were was rather rude. They were dismissive of the doctor who had treated me the night before and all the decisions they had made as well as being dismissive of the pain i had gone through. i have to say i was incredibly unimpressed by this rudeness and lack of professionalism and i think it was a great shame that their manner tainted the amazing work of colleagues. This doctor was arrogant and rude. however barring this one rather unpleasant doctor i was very impressed with my care.
