What I liked
All the staff in the maxio-facial department were friendly and helpful. The receptionist was harassed with computer problems but she still greeted everyone with a friendly smile and remained professional. The consultant was also very friendly and explained everything. I was sent to x-ray on my subsequent visit and I lost an earring, when I called the x-ray department they were extremely helpful and posted it back to me. I cannot fault any of the staff I have have encountered at the Lister.
What could be improved
The only problem I had that I arrived quite early for my appointment so there was no one around and laid on the reception desk for anyone to read was my file. No other files just mine, so presumably it had been located after the others for the clinic had been put into the cabinet/box that they come in and it had just been dropped off later. I was shocked to see this as I work in the NHS myself and I know that patient records have to be kept confidential at all times. As it happened I was the first one there so I know no one else had read it however I do have an issue with the fact that they could have done so quite easily. This is a serious breach of data protection as far as I am concerned and I believe that a system or protocol for the safe storage of late files should be implemented to stop this happening again.
