"Excellent Care"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

Having now been discharged from the care of the Neurosurgery Department of the HRI I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved in my treatment. I was very impressed with the surgeon's caring but business like attitude to my condition and this gave me great confidence in making the decision to have the Discectomy. My admittance to Ward 4 for the operation was well managed. All staff I came into contact with during my stay were excellent, nurses, doctors, physiotherapy, cleaners and the lovely staff who delivered the food which I found to be of good quality and nutritious. Even when my operation was cancelled, as I sat ready to be taken to theatre, the situation was handled well as the surgeon personally came to apologise informing me an emergency case had been admitted and therefore had to be dealt with first. The whole staff appeared to be working together for the benefit of the patients - not always seen in other dealings with the NHS. I overheard a member of the Cleaning Staff saying that equipment that was not been used needed to be cleaned and it was done nearly immediately. Thanks to you all and keep up the good work.
