My heavily pregnant wife was admitted to East Surrey hospital with OC and severe Pre Eclampsia. After a very traumatic 2 hour emergency c section resulting in a 2ltr blood loss she spent a day on the delivery ward with our premature twins in Special care, only able to visit them in her bed.
She was then asked to move to a maternity ward full of screaming babies with her own, 3 long corridors away very late at night. She couldn't walk, bed ridden and forced to attempt to sleep.
After a complaint by myself, and seeing how upset she was by this, she was given a private room. Just that following night, again she was asked to move to the open ward. Her observations seem to have deplinished and nobody seems to care. Food and pain killers have to be requested by her otherwise she's forgotten about.
I'm tempted to rescue her and see if she will discharge herself. However, this would leave her 3 or 4 towns away from our babies and no way of driving herself to the hospital to see them or feed them (whilst I have to work). I'm feeling very disappointed with the hospitals lack of compassion and care for a very sick lady.
