"Breach in confidentiality"

At the beginning of last year I went for what I thought would be a routine dating scan for my pregnancy at 13.5 weeks in the main scanning department. However it was found that the baby heart had stopped beating and stopped growing only a couple days before which was a complete shock. The staff member in the scanning department was very supportive and comforting at such a shocking and sad time. They accompanied me down to the early pregnancy unit/C20 to discuss with a doctor the next steps and what choices I had. I was not in the right frame of mind at that time to decide on the next step I wanted to take in the form of treatment and was alone with my 1 year old daughter. Therefore they said they I could come back in a couple of days to discuss the next steps in ending the pregnancy as I was still carrying the baby. The doctor said that they would ring me later on that day with an appointment date and time. I informed the doctor that under no circumstances were any messages to be left either with any other person or on the answer machine, as my mother often pops round unexpectedly or helping in collection of my other children from school/nursery. I had told no one of the news of my pregnancy as I had recently suffered a previous miscarriage a few months prior to this and so my mother did not know that i was pregnant. I left the hospital and returned home to find my mother at my house as i had asked her to collect my son from nursery due to the delay because of the circumstances at the hospital. After a while a while my mum turned to me and said 'So when is this baby due? The early pregnancy unit rang with an appointment for you, i have written it down for you.' Not only did I then have to explain that yes I was pregnant but that it had also died, which wasn't really what I wanted to be having to explain and go through with someone at that moment in time. I was very annoyed to say the least that not only had the staff broke confidentiality to another member of my family, but that I had explicitly told them that they were not to and not to leave any messages with anyone other than myself. Looking back now I wish I had made a complain at the time, but it was a very distressing time. This was when even worse by the fact that I had a bad haemorrage when I passed the pregnancy that was left and needed a blood transfusion. I also then had to be readmitted a second time when i developed an infection after the miscarriage.
