"Ante-Natal Dept. Never Again!"

I was booked in at Sandwell for my first antenatal scan. I have opten to have the baby at City Hospital, but the scan was booked for Sandwell due to availability. The teception staff were abrupt, my husband and I were a little taken aback. The scan receptionist was equally rude and barked at us and the others. The we were called in for our scan 20 mins late and the nurse conducting the scan was also rude, not a smile or anything to put us at ease. They rushed through the scan and said "it's moving about so I assume there's a heartbeat!" Flicked the screen over for less than 2 seconds and said "yes there is one!". My husband asked "I assume all looks ok" without looking at us they barked "too early to say but I guess so" (im 13 weeks!). Then sliced my name off the photo and sent us out. The nurse who took blood was really lovely. Shame the others were vile. We have already cancelled the follow up scan, and moved it to City Hospital and booked a private scan. I wouldn't suggest anyone use Sandwell for Antenatal scans. Awful terrible service, with vile nurses. If i'd been given the option to have the baby there, i'd be changing my decision. Shame on them! They shouldn't be in people facing jobs! I wouldnt send my dog there for a scan!
