"Lumbar puncture"

I was terrified of having a lumbar puncture. The nurse was absolutely lovely and really reassured me. They were kind and smiley and helped me to relax. The doctor was amazingly kind , gentle and understanding. The doctor was also very skilled and made the whole procedure as painless as possible and explained everything as they went along. I was allowed to have a close friend with me throughout who held my hand which was very comforting and helped to make the experience lighthearted as we all chatted and even laughed! I cannot praise this hospital highly enough particularly as the wonderful staff helped my husband through his phobia of hospitals when he was admitted last year with acute renal failure.
