I cannot praise enough the treatment I have received both at the pre-op assessment, the Joint School. At the Joint School you are taken through everything you need to know about your op. Your are introduced to all the team involved, all tests are done and everything is put in place for your stay in hospital and after care including everything you will need when you go home. This includes any equipment you may need and also a patient guide booklet which covers everything you may need know including pictures of all the exercises you will be required to do after the op. The staff on the ward were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble no matter what time of the day or night. The theatre staff put me at ease and I cannot thank them enough. my surgeon came to see me every day I was in hospital. I don't know of any other hospital who offer the Joint replacement Clinic but for me it was very important to prepare me for the operation and all your questions are answered so that everything runs smoothly once you are admitted, it is well worth the half day it takes. A big thank you Macclesfield Hospital your Orthopaedic Department is spot on from Theatre Staff, Ward Staff to cleaners.
