"Negative Comments"

About: South Petherton Community Hospital

I attended an appointment with my dermatologist for a review of my eczema and my mum came with me. We entered the room and before we sat down the Dr commented on my mums skin, "You would think I would be seeing you, not you." and laughed. I am sure this was meant as a joke but my mum isn't very confident as it is, and when you have eczema you are quite conscious of how you look anyway and for this to be pointed out makes you feel even worse about yourself. I just feel that the comment was unnecessary and rude.

Thank you for taking the time to write a comment. I am sorry that I am only just replying to your message, but have only just received notification of it.

I am also very sorry to hear that you had this experience in one of our hospitals. I think the doctor may have come from another NHS trust, but if you would like us to look into this further then please do not hesitate to contact our PALS team on 01278 432 022, who will be happy to do so.
