"Maternity care"

About: Conquest Hospital

Throughout my pregnancy I had a great deal of problems and was therefore consultant led. Let me just begin by saying the midwifery care I received was second to none and could not praise them anymore. However, when it came to seeing various different consultants and registrars I was disgusted by the lack of cooperation between staff, I was repeatedly told different things by each doctor. Wrongfully being told twice I would be induced due to high bp and previous pre-eclampsia. I was admitted at 38 weeks where I then had a disagreement with the consultant who told me to remain in hospital until there was an available induction date to be monitored, this was because in their words ' we're just too busy' (this happened to be a week later!) Which I believe put mine and my sons health at risk. May I just state though the care I received in labour and postnatally I could not fault. Especially Considering my son had an infection and was in special care after birth. So to the midwives and postnatal staff, I wish to say I big thank you.

Thank you for your comment on NHS Choices and congratulations on the arrival of your son. I have shared your comment with the Head of Midwifery and General Manager, so that your concerns can be discussed further with the Medical team and that the Midwives can receive the compliment you pay them.
