I was referred to outpatients for IBS symptoms. The waiting list for an appointment was long, however I'm realistic and as I've had the symptoms for some years I was OK as I would prefer if others with more acute problems are seen first. The care I have received has been excellent from all staff, from the receptionist through to doctors, nurses, CT scans, colonoscopy staff etc. They have been good in giving appointments which fit in with the fact I am employed-I had the colonoscopy on a Saturday, for instance. The CT scan revealed other problems I was unaware with and they have been excellent at making sure that these issues too are addressed. At all times I have been kept involved in my care. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was the original wait time but as I said this is not a criticism of the hospital, just NHS waiting times in general.
