"care, compassion and surgery"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit

(as the patient),

Hi,

Following a second heart failure event and a heart attack I was re-admitted in May and held pending surgery for an aortic valve replacement. During my stay I was in both the cardiology and cardiothoracic wards. The level of health care was exceptional, all made very bearable by truly great surgical, medical, nursing and auxiliary teams. Particular praise is reserved for Mr Ahmed, my surgeon, who did a first class job and who engaged with me about all aspects of the surgery. I am now making a very good recovery and look forward to the next steps.

My very grateful thanks to all.
