I had an appointment at the EPU after suffering heavy bleeding at the weekend 9 weeks into my pregnancy. I had to wait Saturday and Sunday for a scan as the unit was closed obviously that wasn't my issue. My appointment was at 9 and I wasn't seen until 10 I was taken into the main office with staff walking in and out during my discussion I then had a scan which showed I had nothing left in my womb. They did a pregnancy test to show how that came back so I was left to go back to the waiting area. They called me back over and told me in the corridor it was only faintly positive so I had in fact had a miscarriage. I knew that already but they didn't take me into a room to tell me or give me any leaflets or advice they just told me and that was that I was on my way. I just felt they should have told me somewhere privately and given me some more information. It was very insensitive. I also wasn't happy with the fact I was waiting in the waiting area with woman who were obviously having healthy pregnancy and I feel they probably weren't comfortable with me crying either. It could have been handled better!
"Very insensitive staff"
