"Short Stay Ward Sisters Didn't Have A Clue"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

After being admitted onto the short stay ward following a fall, it would seem anyone above a staff nurse exists to get rid of you as soon as possible. While I was on the ward an elderly gentleman was discharged, only to be re-admitted the following day because he had had a further 3 falls. I have MS, so I was sent home with what was called an 'enablement package' and when the enablement worker arrived at my house the next morning they couldn't believe I'd been sent home. They promptly rang for an ambulance to take me back in, and stayed with me until it arrived. (they were brilliant) But what did the Short Stay ward sister do? Yep, you guessed it, sent me home again! The A&E doctors were good, the staff nurses on Short Stay were good, but the Short Stay ward sisters (Yes there are two) are a disgrace! Be afraid, be very afraid. If you have MS they don't want to know. They expect you to go home and be bedridden.
