"I honestly can't say that ..."

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I honestly can't say that anything was impressive as such.

What could be improved

I think that doctors should be more thorough to prevent surgical mishaps- I had no scans before having neurosurgery, and in the end my surgery was not completed- just abandoned- due to a problem. They scanned after the surgey, and only then discovered what went wrong.

I caught MRSA in my blood from one of the neuro HDU wards also.

Staff and ward cleanliness was poor, and the staff were very rude when questioned about hand washing.

Constantly would not supply meals- about 8 days out of 14 I had problems, and they wouldnt supply alternatives. The patient feeding manager refused to discuss this with me.

Was discharged with no letter or medication, and then accused of self-discharge.

Very little reassurance or information given on MRSA in the blood, despite my anxiety and distress.

Wards were dirty- put in a bay that hadn't been used for weeks and was unclean. The staff displayed aggression when I confronted them about this.

3 of the worst weeks in my life!

Anything else?

I personally am now unhappy to continue any care at KCH. I never thought that such a prestigious hospital would be so dirty, have such rude staff, and give me MRSA after neurosurgery. Very upset and disappointed- Formal complaint to be made.
